 SCHOOL OBSERVATION

As part of the "Unnathi" program, specific benchmarks have been established to attain the necessary competencies in each subject. These benchmarks encompass teaching standards in both language and non-language subjects, ranging from the first language to social science. These guidelines can be invaluable for Head Masters when evaluating classroom performance. Additionally, Head Masters should pay close attention to how teachers conduct the Teaching-Learning Process within each subject. It is incumbent upon Head Masters to ensure that the teaching standards outlined in this manual are diligently adhered by the teachers.

Implementation of "A Book on Digital Learning" in Telangana Schools

A BOOK ON DIGITAL LEARNING

Subject: Implementation of "A Book on Digital Learning" in Telangana Schools (Classes VI-IX) from Academic Year 2025-26

The School Education Department of Telangana is introducing "A Book on Digital Learning" as a separate module in the state curriculum for Classes VI to IX from the academic year 2025-26 in all Government, Local Body, Model Schools, KGBVs, and TREIS. This initiative, "Future Ready Telangana- Artificial Intelligence and Digital Initiative," aims to equip students and teachers with 21st-century skills. A Non-Financial MoU was established between PiJam Foundation and the School Education Department to foster innovation and digital empowerment.

The curriculum is designed to be contextual, activity-based, and rooted in real-life applications, employing active learning strategies that blend theory with practice. Textbooks for Classes VI to IX have been printed and distributed. Capacity-building programs have been conducted for Digital District Resource Persons (DDRPs) and mathematics and physical science teachers to strengthen their skills in coding, data science, and AI. District-level workshops are also being conducted for teachers in Atal Tinkering Lab-established schools. A cascading approach will be adopted to reach all concerned teachers across Telangana.

Schools are provided with suggestive work distribution and instructional guidelines to ensure effective teaching. Key implementation guidelines include textbook distribution, lesson allocation, collaboration among teachers, curricular integration, respect for data privacy, and student certification with a digital project repository. District Educational Officers are instructed to communicate these proceedings to all Headmasters/Principals to ensure effective implementatihon of the digital curriculum.

Key Changes to the SSC Examination Pattern & Guidelines for Formative Assessment (FA) Marks 2025-26

SSC EXAMINATION PATTERN - GUIDELINES

The Telangana government's Director of Government Examinations has issued new guidelines for the March 2025 SSC Public Examinations, which include changes to the examination pattern and the method for calculating and submitting Formative Assessment (FA) marks, also known as internal marks.

Key Changes to the Examination Pattern

  • The number of SSC question papers has been reduced from 11 to 6, with one paper for each subject.

  • The grading system has been replaced with a marks system, starting with the 2024-25 academic year.

  • The final SSC result for each subject will be out of a total of 100 marks. This is composed of 80 marks from the Summative Assessment (the single question paper) and the remaining from the Formative Assessment marks.

Guidelines for Formative Assessment (FA) Marks

  • FA marks will be calculated by averaging the scores from four formative tests.

  • The marks should be rounded off to the nearest whole number. For example, an average of 13.5 is rounded up to 14, while an average of 13.1 to 13.4 is rounded down to 13.

  • If a student is absent for a formative test, the sum of the marks from the tests they did take will be divided by four. For instance, if a student was absent for the 4th test, the marks from the first three tests would be added up and divided by four to get the final FA mark.
